The Advanced Scanner provides you with the ability to screen the market for stocks or ETFs based on the trading criteria that are most important to you.

To create a custom name for the scan, right-click the Default tab and then click Rename Tab. Multiple tabs allow you to run multiple scans within the same Advanced Scanner window. In the example below, we created multiple tabs for scans; one tab for stocks and one tab for ETFs.

The Advanced Scanner allows you to search the market based on technical criteria as well as more basic criteria such as price and volume. To view or select the individual scanning options, use the drop-down menu to choose a scan type. You can sort the results by clicking on the fields to arrange the items in either ascending or descending order based on your trading interests. In addition, a time stamp and a number of results field displays in the scan window to the right of Run This Scan. Once the scan is complete you can right-click the results to access the menu. From this menu you have the option to place a trade, create an alert, print, detach the scanner from the window, or close the scan window.

In addition, you can also choose to open the symbol in a new window such as Charts, Sector Trends, and more by pointing to the Open Symbol In menu. If the scan does not return any results or if you want to alter the filters, you can do so by returning to the filter area of the scanner and making additional adjustments to the filters. After you choose the new filters, you can run the scanner again by clicking Update Scan or by clicking Run This Scan.

If you want to export the results of your scans to a third party application via a comma delimited file or open all or a select amount of symbols into a watch list, click Export. A menu opens and from the menu, you can specify the symbols you want to export and where you can export them to. Choose the option you want and click Export in the lower right corner of the Export window. There are two ways to access Advanced Scanner: On the Main Menu in the top left corner of the ELITE platform, point to Research and then click Advanced Scanner.

From the main scanner window, select the criteria you want to use to scan the markets.
