Yo I just re-subbed and I see that the 3 aethersands are basically worthless now, so I was wondering whats replaced it as the best way to make money from fishing?

With the announcement of swimming in the coming expansion, I think swimsuits would be a good target in the farish future. At the moment, I'm not sure. Not a big fisher.

I don't know if there's a list anywhere but putting up HQ versions of the fish needed for the GC Turnins in the right stack size would probably be a good way to do it. I will pay for the damn turn-ins but for fuck's sake, if the only listed stack sizes can't add up for a clean submission, I'll spend the time out of spite. Goddamn market barons on Gilgamesh all do that shit on purpose. There is one in particular that sells HQ Culinarian turn-ins in stacks of fucking 5.

The funny thing is that I see more expensive sales happen for other sellers simply because their stacks aren't designed to be inconvenient. Diadem mats are usually pretty good to sell, gem marimo, retribution staff already mentioned , pterodactyl.

I'm personally always looking for gem marimo's but there's never enough supply for me so I fish em myself. They make max ethers. These will only be good for the next month, when they shut down diadem for revamping in 3.

I'd try for Retribution Staff from the Diadem, or Coerthan Crabs. They're cheap, but they'll sell, as they're both used in common foods. There are alot of fish bots out there that lower the profit. There are a few food recipes that call for fish that sell decent, the diadem fish and some alchemy fish. Just check for what sells the most. Also, you can just farm the illum perch for blue scripts and sell the bait. I think the swim suits will go up in price again too with the announcement of swimming.

There is a new instance-based gathering area eureka? Fishing on it's own doesn't really make much money unless you're on a really dry server that has good demand for the stuff such as GC turn in, or sometimes diadumb fish.

The good money generally comes from the glamor you can get using Cul desynth on the fish.

But even then, that stuff doesn't sell often Before the undercut wars nuke your profit , and I'm not expecting the price to raise THAT much like some others seem to think it will with Stormblood. At least not during Heavensward. There is going to be new glamor options with Stormblood, and I'm sure plenty of more bikinis and other outfits they'll hold out for. But really, just look at the fish on the marketboard. Look for things with a decent enough price that sell often.

Look up why it sells often Could be used in food some people use to raid with , and then look up how to catch it. Especially with people who bot. There are far more of them than you'd think. Any market people tell you here is likely going to be incredibly saturated. GC fish that matter can be annoying to catch, that's the reason for the lack of them on the market, ontop of the fact that generally there are other more profitable ways to make gil than fishing in general, sadly.

Honestly, fishing isn't super profitable. I recommend leveling and gearing MIN or BTN and spam Ephemeric nodes and get grade three collectability and then use aetherial reduction on it and sell the duskbornes, you can get 99 or so in two hours or so and they sell for k. If you want a regular source of steady income, its very easy to stock up on blue coral, which is used in a lot of important other recipes. However, its VERY important not to overflood the market with them or the price does drop rapidly, but it is something people buy in large quantities everyday on my server.

My hope is that in 4.

They said there would be underwater gathering for Fishers too, so I'm wondering if that'll incorporate an offhand and include more than just fish but like underwater treasures and stuff. Blue Cloud Coral, Gloaming Coral, and Mogpom are ingredients of the 4 Star Alchemy Dissolvents. Check the price and sales history on Gigantpole minions.

On my server they go for k and sell about once a day. They take about 5 minutes to catch. I usually go out about once a week and catch 5 or 6 of them and put them up. It's not crazy money, but it makes me close to a million a week. I have a lot of money. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy.

Since then, I've made some incredible friends and had an amazing journey. And I'd like to share with you guys. I'm just gonna say it: Stormblood is better than Heavensward No spoilers. Pretty great attempt to explain lore wise why we have people with us in duties in Stormblood. Some of those fish just aren't sold on the market usually. How many times have I cursed at fishermen not putting these up to take my money! I thought there might be a list somewhere. Other than that, the other comments have GC hand ins covered.

Lots of Materia IVs and Vs to be had. This is an archived post.
